THE PRACTICAL DETAILS
A transparent 16-inch dome with a stated hanging-load limit
The transparent Perky-Pet 340 is useful when you want an overhead cover that preserves a view through the guard. The source describes a 16-inch-diameter plastic dome and two mounting arrangements: above a hanging feeder or below one on a pole. Choose according to the actual connection rather than assuming the two arrangements use identical load paths.
The maker states a 12-pound limit. Treat that as a source rating for the intended installation, not a universal capacity for every hook or pole in the station. The exact pole-diameter range and complete fixing inventory are not established in the reviewed details. A feeder and support pole are not promised by the dome’s product name.
The generic 3 ×16 ×16-inch dimension field should not be reinterpreted as a 16-inch-tall dome; the explicit 16-inch diameter is the useful confirmed span. Choose this model for its transparent plastic form and mounting options once the connection is verified. A metal guard is a different material choice, while a wider clear cover changes the coverage geometry. Transparency and dome shape do not establish that animals cannot reach the feeder from all directions.

Check the chosen connection
Verify which parts support the hanging load in the actual arrangement.
Compare the diameter with your feeder
A 16-inch span does not establish complete coverage of every body below it.
Questions about this selected product
Is 12 pounds the capacity of my feeder pole?
No. It is the baffle’s stated limit and does not rate your separate pole or hook.
Can it be used below a feeder?
The source describes pole mounting below a feeder as one option.
Is the dome 16 inches tall?
No such height is established. Sixteen inches is the explicit dome diameter.
