BIRD FEEDING SUPPLIES

Check the fit of baffles and ant moats

Choose the role before the diameter

A pole baffle is a barrier around a support; an overhead dome is a hanging cover; an ant moat is a separate water cup in the suspension chain. Their positions and interfaces differ. A large rain cover does not automatically provide the same pole-climbing barrier as a correctly fitted guard, and a moat is not another nectar reservoir.

Check whether the pole can be dismantled

The clear iBorn spring guard explicitly requires a removable straight sectional pole and excludes one-piece or non-detachable posts. WeeFeetc describes a wrap-around cylinder intended to avoid pole removal but excludes deck hooks. Those are decisive compatibility details. A pole-diameter match alone is not sufficient when the required installation route is unavailable.

Match the whole fixing interface

Some guards provide a diameter range, some only an upper limit and some no measured range. PFNRTH states less than 1.4 inches, which is not proof that every smaller pole shape fits. The non-spring iBorn gives inch and millimeter lower boundaries that do not exactly match. Confirm the collar, pole shape and hardware rather than choosing the most convenient field. The product dossiers retain these uncertainties.

Use each model’s placement instructions

Garbuildman specifies a different mounting-height and clearance arrangement from the iBorn guard features. Keep those directions tied to the selected model; do not combine convenient numbers from several brands into a new installation rule. Nearby structures and suspension geometry affect the intended arrangement. No diameter, spring action or slippery surface is treated here as a universal guarantee of animal exclusion.

Compare moat material and connections

The catalog includes metal cups, glass tulip cups and visible polycarbonate cups. The upper and lower hooks must match the support and the feeder, while the total hanging drop changes when a separate moat is added. Water capacity does not establish evaporation time or allow you to stop checking the cup. The selected sources describe water barriers; no oil-use advice is added.

Read the package correctly

Two mounting views of the Yidaimi guard represent one guard. Four interlocking panels are parts of one baffle. The iBorn transparent rain-cover pair is two covers, without feeder bodies. A red-moat title can also conflict with a unit-count field. Resolve the exact count and fixing inventory before ordering parts for multiple stations.
